LIFETIME GOALS

When you have set your lifetime goals, set a 25 year plan of smaller goals that you should complete. From there you can just shorten your overall goal spans, for example, you set a 5 year goal plan, 1 year goal plan, 6 month goal plan, and 1 month goal of progressively smaller goals that you should reach to achieve your lifetime goals. Each of these goals should be based on the previous plan.
You see, by starting out slowly, you are giving yourself the chance to realize and work on achieving the goals that you set out to do.
Then create a “things to do list” that you should do today to work towards your lifetime goals. At an early stage these goals may be to read books, gather information and learn some knowledge. These will help you achieve long-term goals.
You also need to review your plans and to ensure that they fit the way in which you want to live your life.
Once you have decided your first set of plans, keep the process going by reviewing and updating your ‘things to do list’ on a daily basis.
You need to periodically review the long-term goal planning, and revise them to reflect your changing priorities and experience in your life.
Setting personal goals - Setting personal goals has been widely used by professional athletes, successful business people and all other fields. It proves out to be very useful. It can give you long term vision and short term motivation.
Setting personal goals is a vision you hold in your mind of an end result. The end result you hold in your mind represents the achievement of something you want to BE, DO or HAVE.
And one way to work out your goal is to answer these three questions:
What do I want to be?
What do I want to do?
What do I want to have?
Only you can answer these questions. Answer them honestly and you will have your own personal goal.
For setting personal goals, you may choose goals that are necessary for your health or happiness. There are also many other aspects for life too. Setting personal goals can be in these areas:
Attitude:  Attitude is everything. Your attitude can determine whether ‘you will’ be successful. Is any part of your mindset holding you back from making progress? Do you talk too much but seldom do anything? If so, take time to confront your negative attitude and find a solution to change it.
Career: Do you love your job? What level do you want to reach in three year’s time? And in five year’s time? Do you have the skills for promotion?
Education:  Are you still growing and learning? The world is changing fast. We have to continue learning to catch up with the world. Learning is a life- long process. We should learn all our lives and never stop.
Family:  How much time do you spend with your family every day? Are you too busy to stay with them? Do you want to do something for them? Family is not only our living space, but also our spiritual home.
Financial:  How much do you want to earn by what age in your life? What can you do to make them come about?
Health:  Are you satisfied with your current health? Do you want good health deep into old age? What steps are you going to take to achieve physical and mental health?
Pleasure:  How do you want to enjoy yourself? Do you have a hobby? Do you have good friends to enrich your life? You should ensure your life to be happy.
Public Service:  Do you want to make the world a better place? What can you do for them? You can show your love by contributing to the public service.
These are the areas that you can consider when planning your personal goal setting. You may ask yourself the BE, DO, HAVE questions for each of these areas. Soon you will figure out your personal goal.
Life is multifaceted, you need to set your personal goals in all these areas. And this will enrich your life.
