CONFESSIONS OF A BLOGAHOLIC
It started innocently enough. Curiosity led me to a blogspot called The Life of a Publisher. A link there connected me with Blog Book Tours, operated by a woman named Dani. Always open for promotional ideas, I joined her e-group of the same name. Suddenly I was caught up in an intensive training program on how to arrange my blogspot to best advantage.
Prior to joining the group, I’d blogged only on special occasions, at my private blog, Double M, and on Wednesdays at my group blog, Acme Authors Link.
When I joined Dani’s e-group, I learned about the benefits of daily blogging to build a followship. An August daily challenge was already in progress. Although August was almost over, I decided to accept the challenge myself at my own blogspot to see how long I could last. I’m still doing it. Now I can’t stop.
How could I? If I did, I’d miss my blogging friends. These people are as real to me as people I see in person, some even more so. I’ve met all sorts of bloggers, with all sorts of reasons for blogging.
Some do it for promotion, some out of loneliness, some for the fun of it. Depending on the bloggers, I learn of their ambitions, their setbacks, illnesses, families, hobbies, weather, all kinds of happenings. Some share writing and life experience tips they’ve learned.
Whatever their reasons for blogging, the results are the same. Bloggers are real people sharing real experiences. In their posts, they leave behind a bit of themselves whether they realize it or not. Like breaking news on TV, I never know what’s going to appear, and I have to stay tuned for more.
What about you? Do you enjoy blogging? If so, what do you like most? If not, why not? Please share.
Thanks to Ginger for inviting me here to blog. Everyone's invited to come on over at any time to visit at Double M at http://morganmandel.blogspot.com.
