A Flash Fiction Story

He always ordered a slice of gingerbread and black coffee. Hearing his voice through the headset made my morning, which is why I volunteered to work the drive-thru.

Was it his southern drawl, his friendly smile, or the way G.B., the Irish Setter, rested his chin on Mason's shoulder so adoringly that it won me over?   I'm not sure. I only know I developed an impossible-to-hide-crush.

Mason finally asked me out, and now we are engaged.

We're perfect together, like hot chocolate with whipped cream or gingerbread cookies and milk.

We are [planning a small winter wedding. Our family organized a potluck reception. My dad will walk me down the aisle of the church. And G.B. (AKA) Gingerbread Boy) is excited to be our ring bearer.

Saturday Photo (Things that Make Me Smile) #1 by Connie Vines

 My year-long plan is to post a photo each Saturday about things that make me smile. 😀

Many things make me smile, so you will find different types of photos pop up. Of course, my pups, and friends of my pups, will be posted. I collect gingerbread items (non-edible), and somehow each room in my cozy So. Cal home ended up with a 'theme' --Thank you (I think) family and friends. So, sprucing up my home may warrant a photo or two.

Christmas Gifts. 

My family claims shopping for me is a snap! A gingerbread snap, that is!

Son number two, and his fiancée, purchased a plaque for me to hang in my dining room.
