Does Chaos Rule Your Morning?

Overnight Steel-Cut Oatmeal
is my go-to Breakfast solution!

Ingredients:

2 cups of steel-cut oatmeal (store brand is fine).

7 cups of water or (3 cups milk + 4 cups water). Vegan milk is acceptable using the same ratio.

1/4 cup brown sugar.

1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt.

If using an InstaPot, spray PAM or rub the bottom of the pot with butter to prevent sticking.

For traditional Crockpot, line with foil.

Mix the ingredients after adding to InstaPot/Crockpot.

Temp. and time:

InstaPot: Medium setting,  for 6 - 8 hours.;  3 - 4 on HIgh.

Crockpot: Low setting,  6 - 8 hours.

After Cooking:

You may add any of the following:  1 - 2 scoops of Protein Powder, 1 cup of plain Yogurt, nuts, or fruit as toppings.

I will add vanilla extract, almond extract (If I plan to top with peaches), and spices during the holidays/seasons.

Examples: Gingerbread ๐ŸŽ„spices, Pumpkin Spice ๐ŸŽƒ, etc.

Store in a sealed container for 5 days in the refrigerator; up to 3 months in the freezer. Simply add additional water/milk and reheat in the microwave.

Calories: 210 (plain), 9 g. of fiber, 6 g. carbs., 2 g. protein. ๐Ÿ˜‹

May your kitchen be filled with Gingerbread Hugs and Peppermint Kisses,

Connie
