Friday Freebits by Ginger Simpson #frifreebits

Welcome to a new blog sharing adventure on Fridays.  Sundays got a little crowded, so I've decided to hope for a bigger membership on Friday.  The list will be up all weekend for those who want to peruse on their days off.  Here's the rules:

1.  Post six paragraphs from any of your published work or a WIP on your OWN blog.
2.  Send Ginger the Link to your blog...  mizging@gmail.com
3.  Add a link to http://mizging.blogspot.com at the end of your post so people can come back and check the blog of others participating.
4.  Feel free to use the graphic and hashtag #frifreebits as I belong to Triberr and the posts will be tweeted often.
5.  Share your links as you normally do.  I use FB, Google, Pinterest, and of course Twitter.

Today, here's my Friday Freebits from Culture Shock, but first I'll preface it with the blurb:

Naïve, country girl, Cynthia Freitas, moves to the big city with high hopes, but her starting salary barely makes rent in a run-down tenement. Newspaper headlines warn of a serial killer in the neighborhood, and the article grabs her attention when she recognizes the victims bear a striking resemblance to her. Alex Carlyle is assigned to assist detectives in one of the toughest cases he’s ever experienced as a cop. Despondent over a recent break-up with his fiancé, he buries himself in his work until he meets the cute new tenant next door who gives him something else to think about except kidnap and murder. The aftermath of their first “jolting” kiss places the burden on Cynthia to solve Alex’s case and keep him from potentially becoming the next victim.

The Sunday morning sun, filtering through a hole in the bedroom curtain, caught Alex square in the face. He struggled to open his eyes, but the blinding ray was extraordinarily bright. He rolled away from the glare.

Memories of last night flooded back. He froze, afraid to move…to get up. Please, God, he bargained with the Lord, tell me it was just a bad dream. Make it a bad dream, and I'll do whatever you ask of me.

He hesitated a moment before exploring his chest. His fingers rested on a mound, and then moved to a second one. Clearly it wasn't a dream. He had tits.

Alex swallowed hard and sat up, looking into the living room. No explanation described how he felt sitting in bed looking at himself asleep on the couch. The word ‘weird’ fit, but unbelievable was more like it. He considered going back to sleep and hoping for better results upon re-awakening, but, he needed to use the toilet.

Mentally bemoaning the fact he'd have to sit down, he rose. Last time he'd sat on a toilet to pee, he'd been two-years old.

Not wanting to wake Cynthia, he tiptoed to the bathroom, pulled the door closed and stood for a moment, looking into the mirror. Yep, definitely weird.

He felt like himself but the face staring back at him belonged to Cynthia.

  3. Thanks Ladies. I've made my founds and done all my sharing. Let's hope we can really get this party started. Got Jamie and Ro for next week already. I've got to get my blog posted and scheduled. I'll be on the road starting Sunday, but I'll have my trusty laptop and make sure to do my stuff. We'll be looking for campgrounds with wifi spots. :)
