Home Sweet Home

This picture might have turned out better if my finger wasn't in the way, but I refuse to shuffle back outside in my bathrobe and slippers to take another one. :) AND...after an hour of trying to get the captions to line-up with the photos, I give up. You'll just have to guess which one goes with which.

It's our Home Sweet Home as long as we pay the rent. Some people like to bet on the ponies...we took a risk renting, hoping our landlord isn't one who falls into foreclosure and loses our digs. He seems like a great guy looking for someone to take care of his property, and between my sister and my husband, he got the best deal going. Improvements are already under way. She's repainted the ugly white cabinets in the sunroom and he's building a cabinet to hide the hot water heater. The yards have already been trimmed, mowed and raked...although the later seems futile given the season. They call it "fall" for a reason.

This photo diary actually serves too purposes...One, to show you where I live, and two, to document things for the new insurance policy I took out yesterday. After the tornado damage in February, you can't be too careful. So...here's some more pictures. You can see that we are really 'in' and 'settled.'

This is looking down into the den from the kitchen.

This completes the picture of the den. If you look closely, you can see Spencer in the chair, watching Max & Ruby. No school today because of the election, and he can't even vote. :) The door next to the TV leads into a combo laundry/bathroom.

The living room looking from the dining area.

The dining area, looking from the living room. (Small but quaint.)

Gwenn's Bedroom

Our bedroom (Mine and Kelly's)

The rest of the bedroom...what we see from the bed. *lol*

The sunroom, or what we refer to as our living area. We spend a lot of time out here...and it's awesome not to have to fight the bugs while having fresh air and sunlight. Love it, love it, love it. When it's finished, it will be a good place for having a party. It runs the length of the house and I'm standing in Spencer's part...his toys, McQueen car bed and shoe rack (a must for the picky housekeeper) are behind me. :)

Looking down from the parking area of the driveway into part of the backyard.

Looking at entrance to sunroom from the parking area. Notice there is a slab big enough for two cars at the rear and where I'm standing, you can park two more.

Oops...almost forgot the kitchen. It's small but functional and sure to under go a major overhaul. Sis doesn't like the color. *lol*

The picture diary wouldn't be complete without a glimpse of our office area. This is where I spend most of my time and I can look out over the sunroom and keep an eye on Spencer while he plays. It's awesome having my own space again...and sharing it with my sister is a blessing in more ways than one. :) Oh, by the way, the brown chair is mine. It's the one with the biggest butt print.

I would have taken a picture of the bathroom, but Gwenn was showering and I didn't think she'd appreciate the intrusion. It's just a bathroom, afterall, although tastefully decorated and sparkling clean. :)
