Ginger's Six Sentence Sunday

Welcome to my little part of Six Sentence Sunday.  When you've finished my offering, please head back to the SSS website and follow more of the links.

Here's my six for the week.  Enjoy:

The ebony eyes locked on her, paired with the muscular arm holding out the water bladder she’d earlier sought, froze a breath deep in her chest.  Despite a lack of sunlight in the woodsy thicket, his hair glistened from a recent greasing, and the beaded dentalium necklace peeking from inside his hoodless parka looked quite impressive, although out of place. The highly valued beads provided proof of his standing within his band. Normally received in trade, his neckwear indicated someone who possessed goods to exchange—a person of means.

Thanks for stopping by.  This is the first draft of my WIP, Chugiak Moon, so if you see something I need to consider, comments are welcome.  :)

I'd also like to mention that today, May 6th, is a "free" day on Amazon's KDP program for Ellie's Legacy, an historical romance set in Tennessee.  There's a touch of humor for those who like feisty heroines.  :)  Hey, you can't argue with the price.  "Likes" are appreciated.

    1. Lorraine,
More to come next week. I'm excited to find out more about him too. Being a pantser has it's advantages. :)

  4. Ebony eyes? Are the pupils expanded, or are you using ebony for very dark brown? And I love the detail about the dentalis shells.

    1. To be honest, I've never heard ebony used any way other than to express deep color. The ebony night, her ebony dress, his ebony skin...If I wanted to describe the manner in which he gazed at her, I would have used a descriptive term that better fit and was easily understood, i.e., wide. Why would you think his pupils would be expanded simply by his tapping her shoulder and asking her if she'd like a drink?
